Client portal

Invite a client to their portal

Give each client a read-only login where they can see their pages, leads, results, and shared documents.

The client portal is a read-only window into the work you’re doing for a client: their pages, their leads, their numbers, and the documents you’ve chosen to share. Clients log in with a magic link — no passwords to manage — and only ever see their own company’s data.

Inviting a client

  1. 1

    Open the company page

Go to the client’s company in Perch and find the Client portal card.

  2. 2

    Send the invite

Enter the client’s name and email and hit Send invite. They get a branded email with a sign-in link to their portal.

  3. 3

    They’re in

Clicking the link signs them straight in — no password setup. The card on the company page shows their status, and you can resend the invite or remove their access at any time.

During the beta each company has one portal login. Removing a client frees the slot for a different person.

How clients sign in

Portal sign-in is passwordless: clients enter their email on the portal login page and receive a magic link that’s valid for one hour. For extra security, a client can enroll an authenticator app from their portal Profile — after that, sign-in also asks for a 6-digit code.

What clients see (and don’t)

  • Home — a rollup of their pages, leads, and results, plus recent activity.
  • Pages — the pages you’ve published for them.
  • Leads — contacts captured by their pages.
  • Analytics — views, leads, and conversion numbers for their company.
  • Documents — only files you’ve explicitly shared.
  • Profile — their own account and security settings.

Everything is scoped to their company and strictly read-only. Clients never see other companies, your internal notes, or anything in your workspace you haven’t shared.

Sharing documents

Every document in Perch has a portal visibility setting:

VisibilityWho sees it
InternalOnly your team. Never appears in any portal.
Shared with companyThe client’s portal login sees it in their Documents tab.
Private to clientVisible to one specific portal login, labeled “Private to you.”

New documents default to internal, so nothing leaks into a portal unless you choose to share it.

Access requests

If someone at a client company asks for access from the portal login page, the request lands in your Portal → Access requests queue with their name, email, and message. Approving a request assigns them to a company and sends the invite; you can also deny with an optional reason. Public access requests can be turned off entirely, in which case the portal is invite-only.

See exactly what your client sees

From the Client portal card you can open a view-as-client session: a 30-minute, read-only pass through their portal, recorded in your audit log. Use it to check what a client will see before you send the invite.
